| Peasholm Park, Lakeside, Scarborough No Panorama? you may not have 'JAVA' enabled on your browser. |
Peasholm Park was designed by Harry W. Smith, borough engineer in 1912, with later additions in 1932 and renovated in 1991. Peasholm Park is a municipal garden, popular in the summer season. There is a circular walk around a lake with several lanterns and pagodas. An island is accessible by japanese-style bridge (when open) where there is a tea house and the park's dominant feature of a two-storey pagoda on top of the mount. Regular 'Navy Battles' are waged on the lake, with radio operated model ships (admission charge) You can hire boats and 'Swans' to take a trip around the island during the daytime.
