St. Marys Church interior, Scarborough
St. Mary's Church dates from the 12th Century. All the original Stained Glass in the Church was destroyed by Cromwells Armies during the Civil War. Further damage was sustained by the Church when it was hit by a German 'Parachute Mine" in 1995 the 'Friends of St. Mary's" was formed, and amongst other things have completed the addition of window guards to the Church. The body of world famous author, Anne Bronte, lies in the graveyard
