A fascinating sight on Vincent Pier is the old water cannon, mounted on a swivelling platform and looking ready for action, although it hasnŐt been used for many years. The lighthouse is not as tall as some around the coast of Britain, but has nevertheless saved many lives on this very inhospitable stretch of coastline.
Vincent Pier is well stocked with benches and if your idea of a relaxing holiday is to sit quietly in the sun while the world goes by, then this is certainly somewhere to head for. If you fancy a drink or a bite to eat, cafes are only a step down the pier to the land.
