Vincent Pier is an excellent spot to head for if you like watching ships and boats as they all pass this way leaving the harbour.
The lighthouse has saved many a ship in these treacherous waters and the Diving Belle statue is a spectacular recent edition, as she perches on top of her beam with arms outstretched, looking for all the world as though she is about to leap into the waters of the harbour. It can be breezy out here on the end of Vincent Pier, but as a place for blowing the cobwebs away, it is hard to beat.
