Sandside is the classic resort section of Scarborough, with shops selling novelties, rock and other sweets as well as a typical seaside cafe. Bucket and spade holidays are coming back into fashion and the nostalgia evoked by a walk through Sandside, with an icecream in hand and sticks of rock in your bag to take home for friends and neighbours gives a really warm glow of satisfaction which a poolside holiday somewhere baking hot somehow fails to deliver.
The shops in Sandside have everything in stock to make the kids happy, from buckets to the little flags to stick in their sandcastles Ð perfect!
