Walking along the front at Sandside, your attention will undoubtedly be caught by a strange, lopsided looking house, sandwiched between other buildings but clearly much older than they are.
This is the Richard III House, now a restaurant, called this because it is believed that the unlucky king stayed here when he was in Scarborough on business involving the navy. This is possible, but as he was leader of the Council of the North, he may have just been staying in the town for a little R&R, just as people still come to Scarborough to do today!
