This quiet corner of Peasholm Park is very interesting to anyone who likes modelling or naval history.
The yellow boat shed in the picture is where the ships from the model re-enactment are stored and just a few of the models are visible along the bank. These naval battles take place throughout the summer months and are a huge draw for visitors and local residents alike.
The models are superbly made and it is almost unbelievable that some are routinely scuppered as part of the accurate battle manoeuvres. The maintenance of the models is a year round commitment and they are kept in tip top condition to withstand the fairly rough treatment they are dealt regularly through the season.
