The Japanese Garden in Peasholm Park is a very tranquil spot and from its position at the top of the waterfall you will have a great view over the boating lake.
The walls of the garden trap the sun and it is always warmer here than the surrounding park, with the added bonus that the carefully placed trees waft a breeze around the whole space. The gates in the wall lead you down walks into the rest of the park, but this is one area where you will want to linger. Bring a book and a sandwich and while away a quiet hour chilling out.
