In a very hilly town, OliverÕs Mount stands out as the highest point. The War Memorial here is a landmark for miles around and the panoramic views of the town of Scarborough, the surrounding countryside and way out to sea are amazing. It is well worth the climb to enjoy the lawns and trees and to visit the memorial.
On a hot day the cool wind is very welcome and it is a peaceful and atmospheric place; except when the ÔRoadsÕ Race is taking place that is, where it becomes a place of great excitement as the bikes roar past.
