The North Bay Miniature Railway is one of the hidden gems of Scarborough. The terminus is at Peasholm Gap, near the Sands Apartments, and takes the visitor to the Sea Life Centre at Scalby Mills just under a mile away.
The engine is turned using a turntable at the end of the run and it is one of the few 20 inch gauge railways still in operation in the country. It takes the visitor along some spectacular scenery through North Bay and although the distance to the Sea Life Centre is easily walkable, the train is much more fun.
