Although Anne Bront‘ only wrote two novels Đ Agnes Grey and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall Đ she is one of our most well known novelists, because her sisters Charlotte and Emily also wrote, a most unusual situation in their lifetimes.
Her grave is not marked in any particular way and so it needs seeking out, in one of the annexes to the churchyard. She loved Scarborough and went there when she was very ill, from her home in Haworth, which, far from being the isolated hamlet may people imagine was actually a thriving town even then, with its own railway station.
